What Is Honda Music Link™?
Honda Music Link is an accessory adapter that allows you to play the music on your Apple® iPod® on your vehicle's audio system. Designed specifically for Honda vehicles, Honda Music Link connects the iPod® directly to the vehicle's audio system for the best sound-quality results. (It does not broadcast music from the iPod® on a radio frequency.)
Your Honda dealer installs the Honda Music Link adapter cable in the glove box (on most models). Once connected, Honda Music Link allows you to use the controls on your vehicle's audio system to play and search for music on your iPod®, and it charges the iPod® battery.

How Does Honda Music Link Work?
Honda Music Link has six play modes/categories, or six ways to listen to music: you can search playlists, search artists, search albums, search genres, shuffle all albums, and shuffle all songs. Each disc number (1-6) on your vehicle's audio system corresponds with a play mode/category in Honda Music Link. For example, selecting disc number 1 on your audio system activates the search playlists category in Honda Music Link. NOTE: To use the first four search categories, you must first install and run the Honda TTS software (included on the Honda Music Link CD-ROM) on your home computer (PC or Mac).

What Is Honda TTS?
Honda TTS (text-to-speech) is a software application provided on the Honda Music Link CD-ROM for those who want additional play modes. This optional software installs on the Mac or PC you use with your iPod®. It scans the iPod® library to create text-to-speech files (voice prompts) for the playlists, artists, albums, and genres (but not song titles) on the iPod®. The text-to-speech files are automatically saved in iTunes (the software program used with an iPod®) and copied onto the iPod®. Honda Music Link uses these voice prompts to help you search for music on your iPod® while you're in your vehicle.

Honda TTS is optional. You can choose not to install Honda TTS and still use Honda Music Link. If you do so, however, you will only be able to use the shuffle all albums and shuffle all songs play modes.
Note that Honda Music Link does not have voice recognition. While it does speak (it has voice prompts), it does not recognize voice commands.
